Manipal University Convocation

The convocation was held last week, 19 Jan 2007.. ( More info ).. Even the Prime Minister of Antigua & Barbuda was present as the Guest of Honor!!
Had a basketball game that night ( we lost to Batch 15 and I barely played for 3 minutes.. Guess I have to practice more.. Hahaha.. ) so I couldn't witness much of the event.. Not that I would anyway if I hadn't played because there were so many pple!! Human congestion!!.. However on my way back I did managed to snap some shots of the convocation..

Charaka's 2 most dangerous things to order

In the midst of cracking up my head and mugging up for the upcoming block exams, I seem to go to a nearby canteen, Charaka Canteen more and more often.. Anyways, the following two are the items on the menu that I consider the most irresistible ( should avoid having ) offered there..


1. Bombay Toast.. The Indian version of French Toast + crunchiness, sweetness and heavenly aroma, all at the cost of only Rs. 8 ( RM o.65 ).. OMG!! Sets your taste buds on fire!! Once I downed 3 plates in under 5 minutes!!
Danger!! : High in calories!! Just think of all the oil they use to fry it and the amount of sugar they put in these stuff !!




2. Good Life Milo.. Dubbed by myself the King of all milk in Manipal.. Once you have one you wanna have another!! Yes, it is that addictive!! Quite pricey though, Rs. 18 for 500 ml..
Danger!! : Too much protein in one serving never do anybody good.. Plus the sugar they add into the milk!!




Other items like the Nasi Lemak and Maggi Sambal came close but not close enough to topple these dynamic duo!!

Physio Practicals

Had a practice session today for the upcoming performance test ( It's next week!! ).. So much things to revise!!! ( combination of the first and second block)..

Of course then there's the determination of arterial blood pressure, examination of the respiratory system, measurement of vital capacity,determination of expiratory flow rate, Erythrocyte count, Blood Grouping, Sahli's Acid Hematin method, Differential Leucocyte Count ( minus slide preparation ), PCV or Hematocrit and finally the ESR determination..
All in a day's work... Now back to my books, Jain and Ganong... Physio Test tomorrow!!! CVS, Respiratory System and GIT ( crazy crazy crazy )... Hahahaha...

Post Schumi Era- Formula One 2007

I've always been a supporter of Team Ferrari or the Prancing Horse... And after the retirement of Michael Schumacher aka Schumi, the best driver ever to race in formula 1 ( in my opinion of course ), i wonder what future lies ahead for the Italian outfit and its 'tifosi'.. Then Ferrari made the right move to sign Kimi Raikonnen which was quite shocking at that time last year..
It's definitely not easy to fill in the shoes of the 7 time world champion but i believe Raikkonen has it all to step up to the fill that role and seriously challenge for the title this time. He is quick, aggressive and strong in defence, and as super-cool as they come ..

Ok, enough talking bout Kimi already.. Let's take a look at the drivers for the 2007 championship title race.. ( the first time since 1993 Michael Schumacher's name is missing from the list )

My 2007 predictions :

From the way i see it, it is going to be a two-way tussle for the title again but this time it is Ferrari vs Mclaren ( if they managed to solve their reliability issues ).. Mclaren would be driven by the brilliance of the double and defending world champion, Fernando Alonso while Ferrari by the ever-cool Ice Man Kimi.. I think it would be difficult there isn't anybody else with the potential, flair and raw speed to challenge these two leading drivers..( Fisichella- well past his prime, Kovalainen-still a rookie lots more to learn, Massa- Too inconsistent, Button- you have got to be kidding me...) Renault will certainly be up in the running for the constructors title ( not the driver's title championship ).. It would be hard for the lesser teams to score points in 2007 unless of course more changes are made to the rules ..


Drivers to look out for :

None other than Kimi and Alonso.. Ice Man vs Spaniard.. Heiki Kovalainen is definitely the another driver to watch.. He turned on some superb performances during free tests and free practice last season, often out-pacing many other more experienced drivers.. Others drivers include Nico Rosberg and Alexander Wurz.

LAGENDA 2006

Last week( 30.12.06 ), the Malaysian Student Association organised the annual Lagenda which is kinda like Malaysian Night in some other colleges... There were lotsa performances that night which serve as the platform to portray the diverse cultures and traditions in Malaysia or sth like that.. I took part in the Muhibah performance which was the 2nd performance under the chinese item ( screwed up the last part of my performance.. Sorry guys!! Hopefully it wasn't so obvious.. was it?? )...
