Taiyou No Uta ( A Song to the Sun aka Moonlight Sun)

I havent been blogging for quite some time.. Have been quite busy with Block 4.. Well actually nothing that interesting happens around here besides love blossoming everywhere.. ( Yawn.. ) Hehe.. Anyways, recently I got my hands on some Jap and Korean dramas!! ( Thanx Carol!!)

I have only watched one of them which I enjoyed very much.. It's entitled Taiyou No Uta or A Song to the Sun..

Erika Sawajiri is the lead actress and she acts as a 16 years old, Kaoru Amane, who suffers from a dreadful skin disorder called, Xeroderma Pigmentosum, or XP for short. It is a genetic disorder of DNA repair in which the body's normal ability to remove damage caused by ultraviolet (UV) light is deficient. There are altogether 8 level of variants, and Kaoru had the most serious variant. This illness makes it impossible for Kaoru to go out in the day as she cannot have direct exposure to sunlight. Thus she can only be allow to go out at night.

At the same time, Erika's co-lead, Yamada Takayuki(from Crying Out Love, In the Center of the World (In Japnese it's called, "Sekai no chuushin de, ai o sakebu"))acted as Fujishiro Kouji. In Taiyou No Uta, Koji(Yamada) wanted to give up music once and for all but it was Kaoru who later came into his life to rekindle the love for music again. At the same time, Koji also shines brightly in the heart of Kaoru; always there encouraging her not to give up on life and music, even though she may not know when she may never sing or play the guitar again. Together, they set their heart towards the dream of becoming musicians.

This is yet another wonderful dorama by Yamada Takayuki & Erika Sawajiri. I give it two thumbs up!! Love the OST ( ori sound track ) as well!!
